Announcing a Scholarship Opportunity for High School Seniors.

Passion Project Initiative is pleased to announce the 2024 Juneteenth Family Fest – Scholarship.
This is a one-time $500.00 scholarship awarded to a 2024 graduating senior attending a high school in Charleston, Berkeley or Dorchester County.
Eligibility Requirements:
Each applicant must complete a scholarship application form, including a 250 word essay and transcript of grades. All applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:

The application must be submitted by the closing date of May 15, 2024 in order to qualify for consideration. If you have any questions about the 2024 Juneteenth Family Fest – Scholarship, please contact kimberly@passionprojectinitiative.org.

Do you plan on attending an HBCU?
Submit an essay (1000 words max) or produce a video (5 mins max)

Jamya Marie Hayes

Jamya Marie Hayes is a 2022 graduate of Spring Valley High School. This fall she will be attending Spelman College in Atlanta, GA majoring in Health Science.

Thurston William Brown

Thurston William Brown is a 2022 graduate of Ridge View High School. This fall he will be attending Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA double majoring in Animal Science/Pre-Vet and Biology.

Kyra Smith

Kyra Smith is a 2022 graduate of Gaffney High School. This fall she will be attending Claflin University in Orangeburg. SC majoring in Biology.

Our PPI Scholarship Recipients for 2021

Miss Adia Dunn

Graduated with a 4.9 GPA from Hanahan High School. She held many leadership positions in high school, including Student Body President, Renaissance VP, and Beta President. She's also an advocate within our community. Outside of school, she's a competitive dancer. In fall 2021, Adia will be attending Howard University. She will be majoring in Political Science and minoring in Spanish, with plans of going to law school.

Miss Sadayah Brown

Graduated with a 4.066 GPA from Porter-Gaud School. She has been accepted to Howard University with a double major in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in international affairs and tv and film production.

Mr. Johnathan Daniel

Graduated with a 2.85 from Goose Creek High School. He received an athlectic scholarship to attend Defiance College in Ohio.
